Guide Stones

Guide stones or sign posts were originally used to direct travelers when they came to a fork in the road. Like lanterns they were introduced into the garden by ancient tea masters. Guide stones, which can serve as a replacement for a stone lantern, are usually placed in an open part of the garden. Use a guide stone at the edge of a path or at the fork in a path to guide visitors through the garden.
