The word Tiki refers to large wooden and stone carvings of humanoid forms originating from Polynesian cultures found in the South Pacific. They are found as far apart as New Zealand, Easter Island and Hawaii. The fearsome god-like carvings served to mark boundaries around significant or ceremonial sites and are often grotesque in appearance. All pieces come in Ancient Stone, our most popular finish. Pieces are cast in grey concrete and stained with multiple colours to produce a weathered stone effect. This finish will not wash off as it is an etching process that ingrains colour into the concrete surface. We seal the pieces to further protect them.

The stains will not wash off nor fade in the sun under normal use, however, excessive abrasive cleaning and wear may reveal the grey concrete underneath. Please note that finishes are hand-applied and will vary slightly from piece to piece.
