Automatic extraction of coarse debris results in much longer periods between maintenance

The new BioTec ScreenMatic enables safer and easier removal of coarse substances from the pond. The solids are withdrawn from the filter system via an extractor sieve and are transported into a collection tank through a permanent cleaning process. This can be easily removed. The ScreenMatic drive cleans the sieve continuously and guarantees sustainable flow.

  1. Convenient filter foam cleaning without having to remove the filter pads from the filter
  2. Removal of sludge by simply pulling up the integrated slide valve to open the side drain
  3. Visual overflow display at the lid indicates when maintenance is required
  4. Clean water guarantee when used in a BIOsys pond filtration system

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:
  1. Check the connections — some units have had instances where the connection on the bar to the motor is loose which causes it not to turn.
  2. Clean the sensor bar. The bar has two little probes that when they touch water tell the motor to turn. There can also be scale buildup on the sensor so maybe a soak in vinegar could be helpful.
  3. If the sensor is touching water but not activating it could be that the hardness is too low in the water for conductivity. This is like the ionizer — in some cases, adding salt to the pond will raise the conductivity.
  4. The unit will flash red if it cleans 20 times continuously — this usually can be addressed by the above AND moving the sensor bar down a bit so it is not in constant contact with the water. When the unit is installed move the sensor bar as far down and away from the incoming flow as possible. Leave it for a day and position it so it is just behind where the layer of debris has built up on the screen.
